1985
Our story began with Robert and Stefane Bradley, two independent book buyers with a dream. From humble beginnings in 1985, they traveled across the United States, staying at KOA campgrounds, and visiting universities to buy books from campus stores, students, and professors. Their dedication and entrepreneurial spirit laid the foundation for what would become a legacy in the book industry.
1987
In 1987, Robert and Stefane opened their first bookstore on the campus of Murray State University, marking the start of Bradley Book Company. Over the years, they expanded their reach, opening four more stores. Always ahead of the curve, they pioneered one of the first campus store point-of-sale systems, which they later marketed to private bookstores, showcasing their innovative approach to business.
2005
In 2005, their son Chris took the reins of the flagship store, bringing fresh energy and a focus on technology. Under Chris' leadership, Bradley Book Company launched its first e-commerce solution, connecting campus stores with the digital world and making it easier for students to access the books they needed.
2009
By 2009, the Bradley family's commitment to innovation and service reached a new milestone with the founding of HokuBook, a platform that revolutionized how campus bookstores operate.
